Copy all those formats (pdf|chm|txt|html) from $HOME/Desktop to the current working directory:
find ~/Desktop/ -iname "*.pdf" \ -o -iname "*.chm" \ -o -iname "*.txt" \ -o -iname "*.html" \ -exec cp -v {} . \;
